POSEIDON

The “POSEIDON” research cruise, supported also by “SEED” proposal, aimed to: a)map the distribution of plankton and micronekton around Palinuro and Marsili seamounts; b)track the vertical migration of zooplankton and mesopelagic fishes in the water column; c)characterize the structure of the pelagic trophic web, from prokaryotic communities and plankton to large predators; d)provide a more holistic understanding of the complex pelagic (plankton and nekton) biodiversity
